Apparently, if you are pregnant, you are not allowed to be upset.
If you are upset, it will be blamed on "hormones."
That makes me upset.
Because if I am upset, legitimately, telling me I am hormonal
dismisses my valid feelings.
dismisses my valid feelings.
And that really gets my blood boiling.
So much so that I just might blow my lid,
And that might be due to my hormones
Which will be followed by tears,
A natural hormonal reaction.
But please note the order of events.
The hormonal reaction didn't show up until my feelings were blown off as "hormonal."
Which you should never say to a pregnant woman.
Just like you should never say that she is "huge" at 25 weeks
because when she was not showing at 20 weeks she said she wished she was showing.
Duh!
Some men just need a clue.
Consider this it.

So true! I just love how women can't be upset about anything, ever! If your not hormonal because you're pregnant you must be hormonal because it's "that tine of the month. I will never understand that logic?
ReplyDeleteI had a woman at church ask me if I was having triplets when I was 7 months pregnant with MG. Seriously lady? The funny part is that I was measuring a week to two weeks behind. Just because you're pregnant doesn't give people the right to talk about how fat you are. So rude!
Oh wait, I take the opposite stance and try to blame some of the stuff that I say or do (or the fact that I start crying at work over a non-work related issue) on the pregnancy hormones, because surely I wouldn't act like this normally, right? I enjoyed this post though, because yes, sometimes men need to get a clue. Case in point, my own DH. He keeps bringing up the topic of us working out and getting into better shape after the baby is born. He is so into this that he asked the gym where we belong if we could bring strollers onto the track (they don't have day care) and he is all for getting a babysitter 1-2 times a week, just so we can get our swim workout in (because he didn't think it would be appropriate to leave the baby in a stroller in the pool area while we swam.) LOL!! I just looked at him and said "yes, I agree, that is not a good idea!". I already feel so very fat and huge, that all of this talk about working out is kind of a downer, but I don't want to squash his enthusiasm, you know. Oh, and Karen - I got the "are you having twins comment yesterday and I am only around 27 weeks along!". It could be a long 13 weeks until this baby is born if I am already getting that comment!
ReplyDeleteAmen sister!!!!
ReplyDeleteWith every pregnancy I have been asked if I'm having multiples. Every one. Seriously people...just rude. And yes, these men of ours. They are amazingly awesome as they are amazingly irritating sometimes. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOh, how RUDE! Some people.
ReplyDeleteThis is a brilliant post, by the way. I can see your words laminated, on paper in multiple copies, for sale in stores everywhere. :)
