I'm not sure what this is, besides sad. Is it a "congrats" to someone unidentified? Is this an announcement that she is PG? Is this a stupid, drunk comment made possible by having a direct stream to FB via your cell phone which opens the door to ridiculous comments like this? When I first saw this, I was at a loss for words. Maybe I put too much into this, maybe I'm just sensitive because of the topic, maybe I'm worrying too much about the kids (whoever they are) and their self-worth and potential alcoholic future which will evidently be encouraged by their parent, this person and possibly others that will surround them. Maybe I should just blow this off as stupidity within the social network of which no one else "comments" or "likes" which can be translated into other people thinking this was an idiotic comment as well. Whatever. So sad.
People and their alcohol. Around here, among Catholics, overindulging in alcohol is the last socially acceptable sin (among certain segments, not all of them).
ReplyDeleteThe other Catholic infertile (and now pregnant) couple around here suggested to me that we drink tons of blueberry margaritas and have drunk sex in order to conceive. Because that is what worked for them. File that in the "bad infertility advice" and "bad Catholic advice" folders.
