Happy Blogiversary To Me

I remember it like it was yesterday;

I came back from surgery in Omaha. My belly was cut open, stitched, healing. Since DH had to go back to work, I was home alone left with the torturous "A B.aby Sto.ry" to watch all day. I decided to go on FB and find some old friends. I found one of my college girl friends that struggled with IF too, only she went the IVF route. She had a blog which documented her story and it had pictures of her new 4 month old baby on it...beautiful. I cried and cried. All day, all I would do is cry. DH would come home and I would act like everything was fine, but the dog knew the truth. I was far from fine.

What I was was scared. And lost. And angry. And ashamed. And alone...so alone.

And then I found you! It started with AYWH, of whom lead me to Sew, and shortly after: Second Chances. SC was right in my own backyard (we'll meet some day)! Link, link, link...I hit a goldmine! Catholic women who understood IF, practiced NFP, understood NaPro and PCOD and thyroid, and knew who Dr. H was! Jackpot!!! I was no longer the lone flower in the world. There were others like me - and they were beautiful! I can honestly say that blog world changed my life (as much as the internet can). Reading about your struggles, and your successes, strengthened me like nothing else could. I don't know how'd I feel today if I didn't have the support of blogworld. And even though I still feel I am more of a lurker than anything else, I know I am stronger because of you.

One year ago today I started this blog. I came to meet some amazing women (and husbands). I've prayed for you, I've emailed you, I talk about you to my friends IRL and try to sound like I am not nuts. I've read less books this year because I'm reading your blogs, and yet the few books I have read were brilliant - and recommended by you. Thank you for being there for me, even if "being there" was just by documenting your story. I only hope that my blog also helps to keep some women afloat in the same way that your blogs has kept me. One year down....Happy Blogiversary To Me!
