Update and Ashes

Thank you for all of your prayers. I received a text last night inviting me to Eucharistic Adoration in the morning for God's will to be done for this grave matter. I am not sure what happened today, but I'm guessing it was not good. What a tragedy. This girl will never be the same...

And then to add to my already high emotion, I had a very hormonal moment. Following Eucharistic Adoration was Mass for Ash Wednesday, so JB and I stayed. As we lined up along the communion rail to receive our ashes, I hear the words spoken by the priest, "remember you are dust and to dust you shall return". That was more than what this new mommy could take. I started crying thinking about my new baby and the baby scheduled to die later today. How could this happen? How could our country accept this? I held it together as we received our ashes, but the tears were welling up in my eyes. It was when we walked back to our pew that they fell.

On Ash Wednesday, the day where we publically proclaim that we are sinners and need to repent. Her parents had her get an abortion on Ash Wednesday. It reminds me of when I was a juvenile probation officer and my first client got pregnant. She was encouraged to have an abortion by her adopted mom. She had it done on Valentine's Day.

As JB wore his ashes all day, and as I looked upon his precious little forehead, reminded of the grave evil that occured today and everyday, I prayed that JB's presence during Holy Hour may help atone for the sins committed by this family. A baby died today, hundreds/thousands of babies died today, the day we are supposed to recognize and repent for our sins. My heart aches...

  5. Cute baby pic...he looks like his father! So sad about the many babies dying today and everyday. I thought the mill closing in our area was a good sign. I guess the women are making the effort to go elsewhere. So sad.
