Attending Children and Family Holy Hour Without A Child To Hold

I've blogged about Children and Family Holy Hour before. How difficult it was for me, mostly because there is music and prayer said out loud (for children) as opposed to the quiet adoration I prefer. Things have gotten better for me, especially since the mc. I consider myself a mother, just my baby is in heaven. And now we begin the story of my collision that happened yesterday...at Children and Family Holy Hour.

Item #1. The book: The 7 Se.crets of the Eucharist. Great book, super easy read. Secret #2 is something like this:
"Christ is not alone”

Christ came to earth as a human and fused his two natures into one: divine and human. The Eucharist is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ (Council of Trent). You cannot divide Christ. So if you are only receiving under one species you are receiving the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ.
We cannot divide Christ into parts.
Divinity equals Trinity. So, when we are in receipt of the Eucharist, or pray, we are receiving/ praying to the Trinity. They cannot be separated. That means where Jesus is so is the Father and the Holy Spirit. Sacramentally only Jesus is present. So when you communicate under one species you are receiving the Body, Blood, Soul (humanity of Christ) and the Divinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) but there is more. Christ is a King and a king always travels with his court. So, when you communicate you are drawn closer to the court of heaven;
this means departed loved ones, saints, Our Lady, the entire court of heaven.

Item #2) The song: "Lull.aby for My Savior" by Da.nielle Rose (I love her!). The line in the song goes something like this;
And when I tell you that I love you,
Baby, just close your eyes and sleep
I am rocking you in my soul's embrace.

So, here I am, Adoring God in the Most Blessed Sacrament, sitting in the middle pew, center, with maybe 20 other people around me, and Item #1 and #2 collide and head straight for my heart. With Catherine Grace in heaven, which means she is with our Heavenly Father, who is the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance in front of me - she is here. And like the lady sitting in the side pew to my left, rocking her baby daughter in her arms, I can hold mine in my soul's embrace at Children and Family Holy Hour. Overwhelmed, I have to leave and cry.

In the bathroom, as I wipe my tears from my red eyes, I wonder why she was taken away from me. Then I realize that I left, she is still there. He is still there. I need to be there.

Thank you Lord for such a beautiful gift.

  2. Every year my Church would have all the mothers come up to the altar and receive a flower or small gift. Even though we were parents, we lost our children to miscarriage, I could NOT bring myself to go up. Of course, everyone at church would not have judged me if I had gone up, no child on Earth to account for. But, one year my husband looked at me and said. GO UP THERE. It was the hardest thing I ever did. Empty armed I went up for my lost children and formally recognized myself as the mother I was even though to the world I appeared childless. Prayers for you and so much admiration.
